Special Thanks

The Florida State Succession Flag

We, the members of the 2nd Florida Infantry Co. I. Hamilton Blues, would like to thank several people who have helped throughout the years and have been major influences on not only reenacting itself, but to this unit in particular.

First of all, we would like to thank Shawn Stidger of the American Civil War Society. Shawn has not only been a guiding light for many of us, but he has continued to be an outstanding example of what a Civil War reenactor is supposed to be. Shawn continues to offer guidance, support, understanding, and kindness, all mixed with a pleasant firmness. He has been the role model for many, many young people as well as adults.

For some us, we began our reenacting career under Shawn's command. He not only taught us the proper way to shoot, dress, camp, cook, and other reenacting activities, but he was also there to help the young people with homework, behavior issues...... basically he has been a 'guidance councilor' to many of our youth. To Mr. Shawn Stidger, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We would also like to thank members of the 1st Louisiana Co. B. 'Tiger Rifles', for their many years of support and fun. Special thanks to Mr. Tom Killian for his generosity over the years; to Mr. Paul Killian for the laughs and for taking over in a weeks notice; and too all of the Tiger members and members of the South Carolina Sharpshooters.

we would also like to thank Ken Dacey for his support and guidance, Garrett Nobles for being a person that Chris wanted to be (stripes brother, stripes); Tom Atkins, Robert McCrary, Steve 'Killer' Hutton for their continual advice; Eric Ramey for the suggestion and encouragement, and James Beresovoy 'the wealthy financier", to all of those that have already joined us, and to Philip Byrd, for being my personal inspiration and driving force. Thanks to all of the many others for your support and help in establishing this new unit.

we look forward to years and years of more fun with all of you!

With the deepest sincerity,

2nd Florida infantry Co.i., Hamilton blues
