WELCOME TO THE

 RANCHO GUAJOME ADOBE

AND 6th ANNUAL CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT

JULY 26-27, 2003

The American Civil War Society is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Civil War Reenactment and Living History Weekend to support the annual fundraising efforts of the Rancho Guajome Adobe in Vista, CA. taking place July 26-27, 2003.

This year the battlefield has been expanded, and parking improved.   We are offering some new and exciting programs for the spectators as well as the favorites of past events.

Amenities

The adobe will be providing washroom facilities, straw, firewood, dumpsters and fresh water.  In addition, there will be a water truck twice daily to hose down the dust.  The adobe will be providing reenactors a BBQ on Saturday evening prior to the cotillion.  Lunch will be available at a nominal charge both Saturday and Sunday, however, we do encourage you to cook in camp, as the spectators enjoy it.  Above ground fires are permitted.  No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed during the hours that the event is open to the public.

Check in

Check-in information to be posted when available.

This year, all parking will be at the adobe.  Enter through the front iron gates, and travel down the road.  Reenactor parking will clearly marked.  At the adobe, turn left, and then right.  Reenactor parking is directly behind the Sutler area.  For those of you with RV’s, please contact me to reserve a space.

Event Schedule/Site Map

All reenactors registering will be provided a schedule of events, and site map along with a full explanation of the battle scenarios.

Miscellaneous

The adobe will also have the house and grounds open for self guided tours and will be providing entertainment for youngsters.  Period artisans will display their crafts and the blacksmith shop will be operational.

Last year's event was a tremendous success, and we know that with your continued participation, we can make it better than ever!

This event is sponsored by the San Diego County Parks and Recreation Department and is coordinated again this year by Diana Andrews on behalf of the American Civil War Society
