For the Battalion drill, all infantry companies are invited to attend and drill. All reenactors, soldiers and civilians are invited to attend for a day of living history, military demonstrations and training and period education. Gates open at 7:00 AM and close at dark.

                 Speakers Wanted!!!

Is there a Civil War period topic you have studied and can present a forty-five minute workshop on at the School of the Civilian? I am looking for qualified individuals or groups that are informed on a particular Civil War topic and can present it in an engaging manner. This is one annual event where you can educate other reenactors and the public in the time period or the hobby. This is not a forum for military themes but if you have studied such topics as the following: customs of the period, manners, religion and its part in the Civil War, cooking in camp, cooking substitutes for those who are blockaded, clothing construction and fabrics, children's wear, women's wear, sewing tips, music, a period impression, hair works, hair dos, head wear, Civil War poems, literature of the period, etc., we would like to hear your presentation. The School of the Civilian is in conjunction with the School of the Soldier. They will both be held on Sat., March 1, 2003, at Heritage Park in Santa Fe Springs. Call Cheryl Schoenberger at 562-947-9512 if you are interested.
